not bad

Takes a little getting used to but this is a wonderful little game! Nice animations, not too annoying music, and relatively fun gameplay. Good for killing a few minutes.

even better than the old ones

Very good game, but the one main concern I have with this one is the lack of proper control explaination. Putting the shotcut key on top of the ability/attack mode would fix this.

Other than that, great graphics, and fun gameplay. Excellent job.

Well then

After RandomRedux's superreview below, there's not much I can say, but the main things I would have fixed/added in this game right away would be an upgrade system, and a little more variety in enemies and such. More cash to play with would be fun as well.

it's alright

Well it's a good version of pong, I like the upgrades, but the enemy AI seems as though it has a handicap - it doesn't move as fast as you, and it doesn't think about strategic power activation. It also can't figure out what to do while it's controls are reversed while you can. Fix the enemy AI, and this will be a much better game.

Another problem is that the ball was deflecting in the wrong direction when it hit my paddle. Might want to look into that.

Also, you may as well have spacebar activating powerups as well as starting the next level.

I didn't check but you might want to add a pause option if there isn't one already.

DormantOden responds:

ah yea, a pause, forgot that =P
Cheers simbrian =)

excellent

as far as mouse avoiders go, this is one of the very best. All it's missing now is a timer/scoring system.

not horrible

but it is a pretty bare-bones game. You need to add mroe features for it to be a really big hit. You might try adding random obstacles, powerups, different arenas, environmental effects, online play, a campaign mode, etc...

Still, it does look like the hard work is over. PM me for more ideas or for me to expand on any that I already listed.

ZuiGe responds:

Yea.. I could do so much with this but nobody seems to be interested... :/ would love to develop the game tho.

minimalistic

simplistic but enjoyable. Good graphics, cool tunes, useful powerups. I only wish there was some way the user could control the height of the jumps.

This might be a good start for a sort of platformer where you must climb as high as you can while dodging obstacles.

not bad

But I got Salad Fingers... I don't think i'm THAT strange.

not bad

Still leaves a few things to be desired though.

Upgrade prices I found to be a little steep, and some levels were not properly balanced. The Swarm killed me, unfortunately.

Another issue was the display on the right side - I found it difficult to understand exactly how much damage my turrets were doing, so that needs to be rearranged.

And something that shows us what's coming in the next few levels would be cool.

could be better

add the ability to skip levels or speed it up a bit if we find the first few levels too slow. I stopped at level three because I got bored. You should also add a progress bar that shows us the time before the next row comes up. Throw in some music as well.

I like paintballing, reading, and watching flash videos. Gaming's also right up there.
