Decent shooter

1. This game absolutely IS NOT a ripoff of Frantic. It's the same type of game, nothing more.
2. I would have liked to see more variation between the levels. It's too boring and easy as it is now.
3. Upgrades are awesome.

Superb!

-Regarding the tutorials: Does your voice always sound like that? I think you overdid it a bit there.
-I got impatient with the time between menu screens
-are the percentages really necessary? Wouldn't it be easier to just be able to switch them around in priority from 1 to 6? I like this system though!
-how about upgrading buildings to decrease production time?
-add "restart" button in pause menu
-I would have liked a way to target specific buildings
-too bad your units don't go directly towards the enemy. Instead they take a few steps at a time and stop for a while, presumably to sit down and have a drink or something.
-the general slow pace of the game was also irritating. An option to speed it up would be awesome.

And that's all i'm going to say for now. I only commented on the negative things, but that means that everything else about this game is awesome. Hence the perfect score.

Good job guys.

Regarding the tutorials, it's Joshua Tomar's voice... and no I believe he can put on many different types of voices... but you gotta ask him!

About the system, well, it's never been done before and it's like you are really the commander, telling your troops what to do and they'll listen and do it, instead of playing God, like Warcraft or Red Alert where your units are "part of you" as of they will go wherever you want them to go, and shoot at whatever you want them to shoot... if you know what I mean...

The slow pace of the game cannot be helped... sadly... I tried different programming techniques, different algorithms, increased framerate, still the same. But I believe how fast you can finish a level depends on how good your strategy is. Some testers cannot even beat level 1 but I can beat level one in a few minutes at the so-called "slow pace".

You make good points. It's reviewers like you who make the world a better place. Stay coool!

Meatboy has my heart forever

Naturally this game gets another perfect score. I love the new maps, although some of them are irritating.

I still think that you need checkpoints though. And make a downloadable version with a level creator so we can play it offline too!

I'll buy one of your shirts when I have more money.

And I agree that Rift probably does eat puppy dicks for money.

great funny game

Neat game idea!

Everything looks nice, music fits, and it's a great, funny game idea. Plus it gets easy after you get the hang of it. My record was 54 before I got tired of it. Good for killing a few minutes.

Suggestion: Have different comments based on your score, and add something that keeps track of your personal best. That's all.

mediakitchen responds:

Great review thanks! I can assure you it doesnt get easy though - try and beat 78 on the www.sloshedsanta.com version.

yes i would like to add more sfx etc. not sure how to do highscore table that would work when game on newgrounds site.

Definitely very awesome

But a sequel would certainly be epic. I have a few suggestions:

-most importantly, some sort of speed up option is needed. Just something that increases the frequency by which enemies appear. When you chose to speed it up, the reward is also increased accordingly.
-more colours would help. Changing the colours of different components of weapons to show which level they're at would be neat. More colour variation would also help to see where things are (enemies) when the screen gets messy. I know it'll ruin the theme but it's for the best.
-new build menu. the current one is a little irritating.
-I'd like to be able to get a refund for my towers when I replace/sell (add this option as well) them.
-I was also hoping to see about a dozen different tower types and at least a few more weapons than you had. If you need any ideas PM me and i'll give you a ton of ideas for this part.
-I don't like how all of your maps are narrow little tunnels. I think it would be awesome to have hills and mountains such. Then you can build your towers on girders/trees/dead buildings/rocks, etc. If you had more varied terrain you could have some more fun weapons as well (aniper rifle, rocket launcher, air strikes, mines, grenade launcher, jetpack, artillery turrets)
-I didn't like the enemy diversity. Only the big guys had any form of animation to them, all of the flying guys had the same flight pattern, and the ground guys only changed in appearance, nothing else. Pretty boring.

So that's all I can think of right now. I think I got most of the things I wanted to mention. Please PM me if you need any ideas or would like to discuss some of your own.

This is on my favourites right now (i'll rank it in a few days, it'll probably be in the top 10) but if I ever see a sequel with half of my suggestions implemented, it'll be #1.

Awesome game man. Please keep up the great work.

I pwn boats

Alright buddy, lots of suggestions for you:

-larger game area/range
-make weapons buyable. I don't like waiting for them and I had plenty of extra cash.
-Change the upgrade system. I didn't buy upgrades because I knew it would only be waster money after I got the next weapon.
-add some sort of story - why are all of those ships attacking a turret in the middle of the ocean?
-more upgradeable things like health regeneration, machine gun ammo capacity, splash size.
-mines would be a good tertiary weapon.
-for the machine gun, one gun would be better than two because it's a pain to hit those little guys.
-I would like to see the cooldown for the cannon and the ammo for the machine gun on the left side of the screen.

And that's it for now. What you have is good though. Have fun.

Excellent flash RPG!

First, to people who can't figure out how to get started: Work on raising your standing with the alliance first to cross the bridge.

I've been playing for about an hour now and I do have some suggestions.

-when you open up your menus, please pause the game. Sometimes I feel like checking my inventory or doing some skill work beside an enemy spawn point and it's just a pain.
-i'd like to see some sort of short-range sprint option
-for some reason enemy archers have a shorter cast time than me, which sucks.
-when you get a quest, have your target location highlighted on the map
-add hotkeys for the different menu screens (i for inventory, m for map, etc.)

And that's all I can think of at the moment. They're all little things. The content is great!

I agree with him completely and there's no need for me to rewrite it.

The healing blocks ruin the game, and the bosses get way too hard.

well it's alright

Well first i'm goign to say that I don't like defending multiple points. It's just a pain.
The game isn't really 3D like you led us to believe
I found it to be pretty easy. You can get through most missions with just one or two ugpraded turrets.
I found the slow pace to be boring.

limited fun

Add:
-more enemies
-crouch/a way to look down where you're jumping to
-more combos

Still, what you have here is beautiful. Have fun @ the top.

I like paintballing, reading, and watching flash videos. Gaming's also right up there.
