not too good

Cutscenes weren't bad but the missions were pitifully easy.

well, it's not horrible

I've played worse. Fun little game. Too easy.

The standard turrets are the best. Right now I have them fully upgraded in each slot and I don't even need to fire anymore.

There's no real variety. No special enemies, no bosses. And why can't we even see something firing from the planet to represent the main cannon?

a simple, enjoyable game

Good filler, just a few things you forgot/issues:

-I really don't like the grunting noise it makes when you lose a life. Please pick another sound for that if you make another.
-There was nothing telling me how much I had to fill in. I figured it was 60% only by experiment. A message at the beginning of each level would be handy.

Fireflash85 responds:

Just read the instructions page in-game. Then you know you have to fill 60%.

awesome

I just think you should add a button to give you a few letters or give you the option to skip a word for $30 or something like that.

Great game.

interesting

While your inverse control scheme is an interesting idea I find that it doesn't work as well as the traditional WASD to move/mouse to aim. The offset keys offset it too much to aim precisely. Decreasing the angle of offset by 50% per button press would help with that issue.

Keeping your money after you lose is nice. It helped me get through some levels that I was having trouble with.

I wish that it was a little slower or you had a larger playing screen. As it is it's almost impossible to dodge enemies/attacks so the tank build is the most effective type.

I also found the font type and size difficult to read.

Overall it was a pretty good game. Good job with this.

epic soundtrack

Most of the score i've given you is for the soundtrack. It's freakin' epic man.

Gameplay itself is just alright. I noticed no real change in difficulty. It got boring pretty quickly. Enemies also seemed tricky to hit as well for some reason.

I would have really liked to see permanent weapon upgrades in this game. Oh well, it's still decent.

ChromeShark responds:

Thanks goes to Madboss for the music, I also think that it made the game. I agree that a few twists later into the game could've gone down well, but after making the 30+ enemies here I was pretty beat! Maybe next time. Thanks a lot for the review.

freakin' amazing!

Pure head-bashing amazingness. Awesome fun gameplay and tons of fun weapons to play with.

Just a few issues that I noticed:
-Like it has already been mentioned there's some type of freeze bug. After you shake off a zombie if another one grabs you then you are completely frozen until you die. It sucks.
-I don't like how you have to always switch between your melee weapon and one of the others. I would have preferred some way to quickly switch between any two of your selected weapons. Q and E to cycle through weapons would be best.
-I found that most of the weapons were redundant. For all missions I only needed melee and a machine gun. They were fun to try out but ultimately useless. And the M60 and Minigun are way overpowered. After you get up that high you're invincible, especially with the lack of more powerful zombies.

Still, it was very enjoyable. I think i'll favorite this one.

smooth

Sweet game man. Simple and fun.

Graphics were adequate for your purposes. Powerups were handy. If I may suggest it it would be nice if we got points for the bombs destroyed by your briefcase shield and the smart bomb.

The ability to crouch and slide would also have been nice.

not too great

Well it's got potential but there are some issues with this game.

-There's no difference between any of the guns besides damage. They are all a single bullet. No split shots, no splash damage. So any smart person would just save up to buy the last one and skip all of the useless ones between.

-Your upgrade screen doesn't clearly show any improvements from upgrading. When all of the stats remain the same there's no point to upgrading.

-The amount of money you get per level seems almost preset. Do we get a different amount for different enemies? Put a money counter on the HUD. In some levels where I was destroying tons of enemies I only got a few hundred. It's stupid.

-That freeze gun turret doesn't do any damage and no perceptible slowdown. It's stupid.

But if you fix these issues this could be a great game. As it is it isn't too great.

slightly disappointing sequel

Well it's a fun game. Great strategy/defense combo. Simplistic graphics do the job fine by me.

I was really hoping for some new buildings/weapons in this version though. It's just the same stuff all the way through. And the same strategy works for most of the levels too, making it pretty boring after a while.

The missions were fun, especially the boss at the end. Protecting the ship was a major pain but I suppose every once in a while you have to have an annoying mission.

I didn't notice a huge difference between difficulty levels. I did the same setup in different difficulties and I still won.

There should be at least 10 seconds at the beginning of each level to get your setup started. It's not cool when you have fast enemies starting right away.

Still, I enjoy it. Could be better but as it is it's still a lot better than many other game.

If you are planning on making another and would like some ideas for more buildings and such then let me know and i'll gladly provide some ideas.

I like paintballing, reading, and watching flash videos. Gaming's also right up there.
