one problem

well the game looks good and controls are fine, but the major flaw is the camera'a perspective. It always seems to be in the wrong spot, and it was so bad at one point that I couldn't even see my little ship thing anymore when I was going "down."

Think you could look into fixing this problem?

brilliant

Some people obviously don't realize that this is actually a TOOL, not a game, but oh well, let's ignore them.

This was a very well thought-out test to evaluate out computers. Props to you. There should be a permanent link to this somewhere, and then new games should be given a "gellyfish rating" or something of the like.

I only scored 8800ish (almost "good") but I have been able to play every flash game here with only minimal lag. Well, I did turn down the graphics when it got intense... ;p

Anyways, good job with this. Very useful.

excellent game

I'd give your guy more combos and some special powers though, and maybe some upgrades to help with the later levels. The option to upgrade health, strength, or speed each level would be cool. Also add a jump feature to add a bit more depth to the combat.

innovative!

props to you man for making such a neat game! It takes a bit of getting used to, but this is a really great game. It's funny and looks great as well!

still needs a bit of work

how about an ammo count on the screen and a force reload button? health packs would be cool too.

It's not quite perfect yet, but it's passable as it is.

Rustygames responds:

Health packs is the only thing I'm not sure about. It would make kills more difficult to get.

I meant to put an ammo count in, since it not a game-changing feature I guess i still might! :D
Force reload would also be nice, I am one of those guys who constantly taps the reload button between battles, I wish I could here!

ice floats because it is less dense than water

I did the first few orders before I got bored. Very neat game! Good job!

Darksunda responds:

Theres only 2 orders. You cant have done more than a few. rofl.

almost good

It feels like all of the groundwork is done for a good shooter, but you just didn't feel like finishing it. Add some upgrades and more enemy variety, and you'll have a winner.

it's not terrible

It's a nice-looking game, but the gameplay got to be a bit boring. I was hoenstly expecting something a little more exciting. A game with missions and upgrades would be great with these graphics.

needs to be cleaned up a bit more

I'll give you 9 because the visuals and controls were stunning.

Only a few problems that need to be rectified:
-the weapons that the machine uses; having a chainsaw drone launched at me when I am in a narrow tunnel is not fun. Give it some sort of intelligence. Devise a few more weapons and some intelligence in chosing them based on your location. It's not smart using a laser when it's floating through the solid rock. It would be intelligent if it filled the tunnel in front of me with temporary acid.

-more useful/visible upgrades. how about a clone of yourself that runs off away from you that distracts the machine for 20 seconds when you are navigating a tricky area? How about a jetpack that you can activate for 5 seconds instead of climbign all the way back up there. Have each of these purchasable upgrades recharge over time. Disposable upgrades simply won't do in this game

-a minimap of areas that you have already visited would be really great, or at least a complete map that pops up when you get to a safe zone. You know how fog of war works in RTS games? Have something like that so we can pause and then go back to the fuzzy areas we missed before moving on. You can't expect us to keep replaying it until we have your maps memorized.

-a map editor with an online speed challenge mode. Make a map editing tool that can scan a map to see if it's possible. no upgrades allowed in this mode. then you can upload it and people from anywhere can compete for the fastest time on user-created maps. There's another game here that uses that system but I forget which one it is.

I'm going to favourite this for now, but i'll be waiting for a perfected second version. If you're going to be lazy and leave it as it is, then there's no hope for you.

very good!

That was an awesome minigame!

A few suggestion though, if you want to practise some more by making it even better:

-Add a bit of a story to it. (vengeful god is tired of man/aliens want to get rid of man)
-your standard mode that you already have will be renamed arcade mode. only add a bit more to the timer bonuses. I don't think you have enough time, plus you waste a lot on your first try.
-add challenge games with no timer
-satellites that orbit with a beam around them, or patrol craft that shoot asteroids in sight?
-create a reason to make your asteroids go faster. Maybe the later planets have a gravity cannon that they use to slow down your asteroids so you have to aim from farther away to hit the people, or else your asteroids are slowed down and deflected?

Still, great looking game dude. Keep up the fantastic work!

I like paintballing, reading, and watching flash videos. Gaming's also right up there.
